Design to me

My Industrial Design journey actually starts with 3 semesters of Mechanical Engineering. After realizing I wasn’t going to have the ability to use my creative skill set I switched to Industrial Design and have never looked back. Industrial design has given me endless possibility for growth and knowledge. The skills I learn in the classroom are skills in which have aided me in my own design. I am determined and driven in my studies because I found what has truly made me happy. Striving for perfection, I often find myself in the studio trying to produce the best possible product. Below is a collection of projects that I have had the pleasure of working on.

PROJECTS

Lamp Design

The objective of this project was to learn how to use the vacuum former to shape a form. The process was a challenge in combining plastic and wood and making everything work seamlessly. To see how I achieved this design and my process click on the process book cover.

Flatware Design

The design challenge for this project was to create a set of flatware based on an inspiration picture. I was given an image of Buckminster Fuller and utilized pinterest to research more form inspiration. To see the process of how I got to my final design click on the process book to the right.

Kitchen Utensil

For the Kitchen Utensil, project we were challenged with picking a user demographic and designed a series of kitchen utensils based on the needs of our users. Our group chose to design kitchen tools for those suffering from Arthritis that are older than 55. Click on the process book to see the full thing and see what we were able to create.

Happy Meal

For the Happy Meal project, we were challenged to design a series of Happy Meal toys and packaging. The goal of the project was to produce 4 toys that fit the Happy Meal Toy esthetic and promote learning. Through market research and past product analysis we created 4 unique toys.
